Authors Note: There are many people in this world that have the potential to do amazing things. Some of these people are young, and some are old. This short paragraph is about a young boy who becomes famous by a spectacular invention that he made himself. (This is not a true story.)
Breaking News! A local pedestrian of this here United States has just created a new invention that can change our world as we know it! William Forkshetimer, this young genius has created his own invention from garbage scraps when he was wandering through the dump. He conected a couple electrical wires and walla! He was able to create a device that would change trees into paper directly. It may seem pointless to many, but honestly, it is quite a contraption! He is now living in his own private house, working with the world’s top scientists about how he will move forward with his new inventions. (We hope to get more updates on this information at later times.) This has literally been history in the making though, a 7 year old child, already as smart as a 50 year old person would be, it must be quite an experience for this young lad! (This young boy will now be attending a special private school that will help him work at higher levels.) We hope to hear more from the action that is currently going on in the lab. Just wait, we may even be expecting time travel in the next few years!

Winter Brings Us Great Memories
Authors Note: There are many enjoyable things that you can do with your family during the holidays. But the activities that are the most fun, are the ones that you can do with your family. In this poem I wrote about one experience that I had with my sisters during this chilly season, and I think that you can guess what it is!
The fluffy, white snow slowly falls,
As we plow through the banks so tall,
Acting as if it was a brick wall,
We are headed into the yard.
Across the snow banks we ran
To accomplish our secret plan
Of creating a Noble Snowman
The first one we’ll ever make.
We rolled the snow into balls
Stacked up quite tall.
Even though our mother calls,
We decide to continue working.
Playing in this misty fog
We add what would come from a hog,
A warm juicy hot dog
Right where his nose would be.
In the arms and legs would go,
Covered in the white, wintry snow
As we felt the cold wind blow
His body was finished.
Next we gave him a warm wool hat,
All tucked in he was, like a cat.
Sadly it made him look a little fat,
At least he kept quite warm.
We stood back to admire our piece,
It definitely looked like a snowman at least,
All dressed up in that fuzzy fleece,
We actually did it!
We definitely had a lot of fun,
For this snowy battle is won,
Even though we worked a ton,
It’s was quite an experience!

The Last Day
Authors Note: What do you think it would be like if you lived through the end of the world? Nobody knows what it would be like to see an awful kind of tragedy like this, but I for one, have sure had my own ideas. This piece showcases what I think the end of the world might be like, and what feelings I may encounter.
Tears are slowly dribbling down my cheeks, a sharp pang of sadness fills my body. I can feel my dying heart sag and drop down into my stomach, a sick feeling lingering through my system. I know that everything is over, I’ll never be able to live the life I’ve dreamt of. All of my beautiful dreams have washed away and are completely gone. I stand here helpless, as if I were a tiny bunny unable to see, hear, or hardly move at all. My family is huddled in the corner of our backyard, trying to hold in their own tears. They ultimately fail, for they begin bawling over the horrific dilemma. Life has been very grim for the past couple of days, and things have been going from bad to worse. But the day has come for our pain to end.
People are scattered throughout town, screaming with terror from the fact that there won’t be such thing as a tomorrow. Most families are just trying to stay together and feel some sort of safety, maybe even live through one more joyful moment. But for the most part, the world is filled with chaos.
All of a sudden a loud, yet low rumbling sound interrupts the conversation of people across the Earth and a storm begins to form. It starts dividing the world into tiny pieces, now scattered across the galaxy. I stare up into my parents’ eyes, the feeling of fear showcased in my expression. Even though this tragedy is occurring, they still look brave and assure me that it is all right, as long as we are together.
An obnoxious cracking sound strikes our eardrums and the edge of the earth begins to disappear at a vigorous speed. I feel my father’s hand slip into mine. His hand is so cold, it makes another tear fall from my eye socket. The wild hurricane travels closer and closer to our frightened bodies and just before it reaches us, my father leaps into the air., yanking me along with him. Falling towards this terrifying storm, I give one last glance at my little house down below, and then turn to face the ruckus. Then, the darkness of the storm swallows me up, and the world completely ends.

A Dog's Life
Authors Note: Animals have feelings too. Even though many people don't realize it, they may go through the most devastating scenarios ever heard of. This story showcases what kind of feelings that a dog or another animal might have to encounter during their lives.
Gravel flies into the air from each step you take as you run along the side of a dusty road. Cars are speeding past you, the rotten smell of gasoline lingering in the air. Hopes of finding food is all that you can think about as you make your way into the forest up ahead. Just as the thought of food passes through your head, a small gray mouse scurries from the dead grass on the other side of the road. Even though your mind is telling you that it’s wrong, your reflexes take over your whole body, and you find yourself running across the road the next second. Your eyes go wide and your tongue flops on the edge of your mouth as you stare at the plump mouse that is now only a few feet away. The mouse doesn’t seem to notice you as you creep closer and closer to it. But before you can take a swipe at its tiny little body, a loud and obnoxious sounding horn shrieks in alarm. At that moment, the image of the mouse drains from your vision and everything goes black.
Your eyes slowly flutter open as you try to wipe away the grogginess that overpowers your entire body. A small pool of dark red blood is splattered on the pavement, its deep reddish color stained in your fur. Looking at the wound brings back the irresistible pain, for it feels like a huge knife has been stabbed into your side. All of a sudden, you begin wheezing, unable to breath. By now your heart has tremendously slowed and your down to your last final minutes, maybe even seconds of life. Awful thoughts are soaring through your head, thoughts that are complaining about the little mouse. Then, your wheezing begins to increase, and your vision becomes blurry. You go entirely limb and slump over. Now you know that this is the end. For then, you heart beat completely stops, and your eyesight is lost. Your life is over.
